JeanE Kitchen and Bath Design was recently called in to design and remodel a tiny master bathroom. The owners wanted plenty of storage and to increase the feeling of spaciousness.
Frequently, when a client calls us to come up with a new design for their small bathroom, we face real challenges because the space is indeed tiny. As a result, we must utilize every inch of the available space.
To that end, we used lighter colors to brighten the space, and two mirrored, recessed medicine cabinets to reflect light making the space feel larger while providing storage.
We topped off the vanity with a custom countertop and an undermounted sink, and extended the countertop ledge to run across the top of the toilet, which increased the usable countertop surface
We hung frameless glass sliding shower doors to allow for an unobstructed view of the beautiful mosaic tile.
And, the recessed niche in the shower provides additional storage.
Because maximum storage was a priority, we decided to go with a custom vanity with two U-shaped drawers and one full drawer, as well as, an open shelf for storage on the bottom.
Then, we used a consistent mosaic tile pattern, which lines up from the floor, up the curb, across the shower floor, and up the walls creating a feeling of continuity and making our small bathroom appear to be larger.
While this was a challenging remodel, we achieved the primary goals of tons of storage and making the space feel larger. Our clients are happy and love their new bathroom!
